About Brenda
I'm Brenda. I’m the eldest of four sisters, and that role has greatly shaped who I am as a caregiver. Growing up in a lively household, I naturally learnt to understand different personalities, mediate disagreements, and teach important values such as sharing, empathy, and – above all – love between siblings. When I was 14, my younger sister Manuela was born. For many years, it was just the two of us and our mother at home. As my mum gradually returned to work, I became Manuela’s main companion. I helped her learn numbers, letters, and how to swim. We spent hours doing creative and engaging activities such as painting, collage, crafts, and pretend play – we especially loved making up new costumes, as I’ve always had a passion for sewing. During my time at university, I also took part in extra activities such as supervising children on inflatable play equipment at events – ensuring their safety while encouraging fun and inclusive play. For a period, I also looked after a young boy who attended the same school as my sister. I prepared their meals, helped with homework, sometimes gave them baths, and walked them to and from school. Later on, while studying at university, I worked as a volunteer maths tutor in a community project to support students preparing for entrance exams. It was a rewarding experience that strengthened my patience and communication skills. As part of my degree, I also completed an internship where I was responsible for inspecting post-construction services, including the cleaning of window frames, glass, tiles, grouting, and drains – a role that further developed my keen attention to detail. Although I am not yet fluent in English, I believe that care – like maths – is a universal language. I bring kindness, responsibility, creativity, and genuine dedication to every child I care for.
