About Amelia
Hello, my name is Amelia and I am 25 years old. Here's a little bit about me... I have a First class honours degree in Sports Business, although not relevant to child care you might think; I spent my placement at a Charity sports development centre for disadvantaged children. This not only entailed being involved in the operations of the third sector organisation, but being on the ground too; coaching, caring and assisting children through the power of sport. Anyway, I decided to take a break from studying and the working world and travel. Working my way through the French Alps, South Africa, Australia, Thailand, Bali and Vietnam. Thanks to this, I was fortunate enough to run into the Riches. The Rich Family welcomed me into their home in January last year in Sydney, Australia. From the bedtime routines; and stories told in silly voices; to answering the endless amount of curious questions that a 6 and 8 year old could possibly ask. All the way through to football in the garden and the fact that I might hold the record for fastest butter removal from toast to avoid a 6 year old tantrum. Everyday was full of fun and learning. I loved every second of it and its safe to say those two kids have left a big print on my heart. Having worked and volunteered for sports clubs, after-school care and coaching, I have ample experience in not only engaging with children but doing so in a fun and educational way. I have sharpened my ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with children quickly. I have experience in working with 11 to 18-year-olds, keeping them off the streets of Newcastle, England on Friday evenings and bringing their focus towards sport. I have volunteered at a Disabled School (ages 10-20), planning and executing a sports day for them. I have also cared for a 7-month-old in her own home. I am adept at maintaining a routine, ensuring health and hygiene and providing comfort and care when needed. In closing, I would like to reiterate my strong interest in the Nannie position. I am excited about the opportunity to work and I look forward to the possibility of discussing things further.
