My name is Defne and I’m a second-year Biology student at Trinity. I’m originally from Istanbul and have a dog back home that I miss so much! Since moving to Dublin, I’ve realised how much I miss having a furry friend around.
I’ve always had pets growing up — our home was never without a dog. I was usually the one in charge of taking them for walks, giving them baths, and making sure they were spoiled with love and attention. Over the years, I’ve had a Labrador Retriever, a Jack Russell, a Golden Retriever, and now I have a Cavalier King Charles back home. Each of them had such different personalities, and I loved learning how to care for each one in their own way.
As someone who’s always been passionate about animals (I mean, I’m studying Biology for a reason!), I thought the best way to make life in this expensive city a bit brighter would be to help out kind people by taking care of their dogs like they’re my own.
